LAUGHTER YOGA

Laughter truly is the best medicine.

A dose of hearty laughter has been proven to reduce physical, mental and emotional stress. Laughter is a powerful mood elevator.

Good hearty laughter—or even the anticipation of it—releases the same endorphins you get from a workout or running. It’s like getting a runner’s high without breaking a sweat. These endorphins bring all sorts of good treats to your body like a healthier immune system and increased happiness levels.

What is laughter yoga?

Laughter yoga is a breathing exercise. It’s a physical exercise insomuch as you breathe and laugh. No poses to master, no special supplies needed.

The body needs about 10-15 minutes of laughter to receive all of the full health benefits. The average burst of laughter lasts 3-4 seconds. That’s hardly enough. And why should you leave laughter to chance when you can bring it on yourself? Your body doesn’t know the difference between laughing at something funny and laughing as exercise.

Plus, funny is hard work. It’s so subjective and judgemental.

HOW LAUGHTER YOGA SESSIONS WORK

We can create a laughter yoga schedule to fit in with your itinerary. If you’d like to bring the gift of laughter to your office every morning for a week or every Monday, we can arrange that. Perhaps you’d like to break up a day of meetings or conferences with a laughter yoga session. We can do that too. Reach out to discuss how we can bring laughter yoga to you.

Laughter yoga was started in Mumbai, India by Dr Madan Kataria in 1995 with 6 people. The movement has spread to thousands all over the world. I received certification from Dr Kataria’s Laughter Yoga Institute in 2022.
